But somehow the fire alarm went off, not once, but TWICE this morning. (I imagine there are a number of "my fire alarm went off" posts on FML right now) The first time at 2 AM, and the second at 9:30. At 2, at least, I was awake, but I was asleep at 9:30! ><;; If someone pulled it, I say we burn them at the stake. They deserve an appropriately ironic death. Before all that, I spent something like 5 hours working on my movie. Nothing ever gets accomplished in my room, so I went to Starbucks, which was very productive. At one point, I was struck with inspiration for NaNoWriMo, so I opening a text document and wrote it down. I left the text document open, and at points during editing when I had something I felt I wanted to write down, I did so. ( Some excerpts )1:28 - What IS Disney channel teaching our children?! </div> Then came the fire alarm and subsequent lack of sleep. But I had some coffee, so I was good. Then the rest of the day was much, much better. I got an A on my psych paper that I was sure I did horribly on because I technically didn't do what I was supposed to, but instead went into too much detail. ^^;; Then Media, which is always fun, and then my editor and film teacher couldn't make it for our usual Thursday editing session, which should be a bad thing, but leaves me more time to finish the things I edited, and gave me a couple hours more free time. It also allows me to eat lunch at 3 with Phil, and show him what else I've edited. Auditions for more play stuff tonight! This time it's for three student-written plays, collectively called Premiers (XXIII), as this is their Premier. Then, The Office! (the only show I have this week as Glee was cancelled for stupid BASEBALL)
OH! Almost forgot! I got to go back to my high school on Monday to announce their musical! If there's one thing I miss about my high school--and there are a number actually, senior year was pretty awesome--it's doing the musical. In high school, my theater experience was limited to grade school Christmas plays, and high school Theater Arts class. I had no theater training. A tiny bit of vocal training, with a great choir director in grade school/church, but I can't sing all that well. And NO DANCE. AT ALL. From that, I was not only certain of a part in the show, as my high school didn't cut, but I earned a featured chorus spot, and if there was a level above featured chorus but below principals last year, I had it, because it was pretty much "Name Parts, Waiters, Featureds, Chorus". AND I had lines. I loved my high school musicals. I put everything I had in them. Which is probably why I got said parts, because there were other people that complained to me about not ever getting good parts when they DIDN'T SHOW UP TO PRACTICE. HMM. THINK THERE'S A CONNECTION? ><;; Argh, that bothered me. But yeah, awesome theater group. So I got to go back to announce their show! It was fun. XD They apparently told the kids there was a "special guest" and when I showed up, they cheered. It did indeed feel good. I've lots of friends from those musicals. That's the other thing I miss. But I've got that in the Masquers, so it's okay. They did some skits, which I can't describe because I've got to go to lunch, and then I got to tell them... Once on This Island! XD Which they had never heard of. Well, at least 5 or 6 had, because we did parts of it in theater arts when I was a Sophomore and some of the seniors were Freshmen. I LOVE that show. It's not necessarily that great of a show, but I think it's really fun. It's written by the same folks as Seussical, for one. And it's Island-y and has fun music and characters. I had wanted to do it last year, but I loved Dolly,s o i don't mind. I'd be going crazy if I was there, though. XD I'm glad they're doing it. I think it'll be really awesome.
Should probably put that rant under a cut, but got to go. Tags: fire alarm, movie, musical, once on this island Current Mood: happy

Eureka/Renton just jumped about five places on my "favorite pairings" list. I've seen 27 episodes in the past few weeks. And like 12 of them in the past two days. Am currently pricing costumes, but if I ever did it, I'd want contacts. ^^;; Also am going to see the movie on Thursday night with the friend that got me onto the series in the first place! I've been meaning to talk to him and stuff now that we go to college together... and also been trying to drag him to SOME movie for three weeks, but he's been away or not responding to my texts. ><;; Had an interesting experience in the library tonight. Was writing a paper and had my music on, but it was my writing playlist, which is all soundtracks and not very loud. There was a group of people at the table next to me discussing mass times. (it was a group study part of the library, so talking was okay) One guy suddenly exclaimed that he was supposed to go to 6:00 mass and that he forgot to go to mass today! He whipped out his phone, called someone and discussed that he'd say a rosary that night and go to confession the next day. And I couldn't help but think that maybe I got a little TOO disillusioned in the first couple weeks of school. Which made me feel much better about school. It was a good week, don't get me wrong. But that was a nice end to it. Or begining of this one. This week'll be short, thanks to G20, only two days of classes for me. Both of them, I have play practice, though, so it'll be busy. Wednesday, going home; Thursday, possible school-visit during the day and then Eureka Seven movie; Friday, other possible school-visit day; Satuday, Erie Anime Experience; Sunday, back to school for TECH SUNDAY. Now I'm off to watch more Eureka Seven. Only three episodes left! Tags: eureka seven, school Current Mood: pacific

Because whenever I have time (which I really DON'T, I just keep putting of reading things ^^;; ) I spend it catching up on the new FMA series. I'm on episode 12. Which is equivalent to the first series episode 27ish, and volume 6 of the manga. I'm officially no longer in ROTC! ^^;; Yeah... I don't need it. I have a scholarship already. And I'd rather be in plays and go to anime club and do stuff with the student radio group. But the week I DID spent in ROTC has left me realizing how ridiculously out of shape I am. If I have the muscle group, it hurts. Now I have discovered, yes, I AM allowed to drive when I'm in college. So this means I can transport myself to and from KuroKiiro, no problem. It also means I can potentially help out transporting people...? celinra, I'm pretty sure I saw you at the cathedral today. Ground floor, around 2:20. 25,000 people on that campus, I know all of 10 of them, what are the odds? XD I'm really glad I tried out for the theater group. It's been pretty fun so far, and Saturday is a 5-hour crew! ...and that sounds really lame that I'm happy about that. ^^;; Also very glad I joined the church choir. I still really like all my classes! Just I need to remember to DO MY READINGS. ^^;; Tags: college Current Location: dorm! Current Mood: oww... Current Music: the episode of seinfeld with "the voice"

Because you'll play with it for two weeks, then leave it in the basement and forget about it. XD We had a comedian tonight for "Entertainment Night". Also we had Dueling Pianos and a Talent/Variety Show. I participated, mostly to win some fake orientation money. SO MUCH FAKE MONEY! XD It's been a pretty fun orientation so far. Roommates and floors and teams and tons of people that I know from high school. But all really good friends, so that's good. I really like it so far, but I got an email today about my Japanese class and now I'm a little nervous for classes. ^^;; Also, 6 AM IN OAKLAND ON MONDAYS. D: Graaagh. I knew I'd have it, but... I still hoped that it would be later. ::sigh:: But I was the one who wanted to go into the Air Force ROTC... My big long France entry(ies) will come much later, because our schedules are FULL for orientation. I'm probably going to have to skip something tomorrow to have time to get my books! ^^;; If they're even there... I should probably go check that... yeah, so, it's late and I still haven't gotten a full night's sleep since I got home, so more later! Episode 41 is out already! And I feel bad for all the people that really did google image search "yiff". Fingers crossed that the most-requested catchphrase next convention isn't going to be "Brooklyn Furry". The rest of the week was mostly work, editing my movie (whoo!!!), and reading. Got the last book in the Pendragon series by D.J. MacHale, if anyone reads those. No, it's not related to King Arthur. If anyone does read and has also finished the last book, I need someone to discuss with. Solara makes no sense. At all. I don't want cosmic-angel-mumbo-jumbo, I want action adventure. Started working on a new AMV. I put what I have so far on youtube, but it's not much. I didn't match mouthflaps as well as I thought because of Movie Maker's bad playback. It's going to be tough to finish, because when I started I failed to consider that both Satine and Christian sing in Elephant Love Medley, but Christian does all the singing in Your Song. Don't think I have enough good clips of Jou, but we'll see. That's about it. Hanging out with some friends tomorrow to marathon Wallace and Grommit, possibly more Aardman studios stuff. Then work, going to scholarship camp, more work, more movie editing... and by then it'll be JULY, and I leave on the 29th! :O Summer is passing quickly... ...well, damn it all, I hit the back arrow instead of whatever I mean to hit and deleted the whole entry. That's frustrating. Short version, then, because I'm now lazy! Australia! Spent the whole movie quoting Moulin Rouge and a second thinking Faromir was The Duke. He had a mustache, in my defense. I liked the movie... but liked quoting Moulin Rouge even more so. Austrailia wasn't as good as I'd hoped. I much preferred Cold Mountain, as other Nicole Kidman romance movies. And I much preferred Simply Ballroom as a Baz Luhrman movie. Rest of the week in review! Monday, nothing! Tuesday, movie editing! YES I CAN EDIT MY MOVIE! 8D More updates on that to follow as the summer progresses. Wednesday, work. Thursday, work and LARP! Only an hour or so of LARP, and it was at a public park this time. I did not like this, because as we were leaving, some weird little kids started asking us things like "how long did it take you to make those? how old are you? do you smoke? what college are you going to?" It was mostly one obnoxious little girl who obviously thought she was better than us because we had giant foam weapons and she did not. It was annoying. Then, Friday was seeing Up again, this time with Laj! It was much quieter being with only one person instead of 8. XD I never knew how much a group of teenagers would laugh at "it is funny because the squirrel ends up dead!" I liked it better the second time around. The first time, I'd already seen about half the movie in previews, so half was new and exciting and half... was not. Now I'd seen the WHOLE thing before, so it wasn't "oh I saw that what else is there?" it was "ooh, I didn't notice this the first time around!" Also, Dug is still my favorite character. "Uh... POINT!" Then we went to Borders and looked at stuff and went to the cafe and chatted. Oh, and we found a book title more hilarious than all those romance book titles I like to giggle at. Then back to her house where I got to see doujinshis!! I need to remember not to take finally having a JouMai companion for granted, 'cause the me of three months ago would not have been pried away from those things for anything since normally the only JouMai discussion I get is "the hooker lady and the redneck?" from various other friends. My friends thank you, Laj, for keeping me from ranting at them anymore. XD All in all, a good week. Next week will be nice and busy since I start editing two days a week and have a new pairing for the contest. Yuugi/Ryou. Yay, more yaoi. /sarcasm. Tags: up Current Mood: content

There's been a big to-do in the anime community recently about FUNimation's One Piece and Phantom streams downloaded and leaked before their Japanese airdates. Also, their FMA: Brotherhood stream which was leaked before its intended airdate but at least after its Japanese airdate. Because I am now done with classes, (FIFTEEN HOURS UNTIL I'M DONE WITH HIGHSCHOOL) I now have the time to not only read these articles on ANN, but explore the forums. I need to learn to not do that. Exploring ANN forums only makes me hate the anime community. The majority of people blame FUNi completely and insult people in very condescending terms when they say otherwise. Someone stole these episodes and illegally redistributed them . Shouldn't we blame them? Yeah, FUNi's security was crap, but they actually care about their fans. They get us boxsets and put extras on their DVDs and offer the option of translated and non-translated theme songs and ARE TRYING TO GET US THE SIMLUCASTS WE'VE BEEN WHINING FOR. So this person/persons thank FUNi by bitorrenting the episodes before they come out in Japan?! HELL YES IT'S THEIR FAULT. FUNi needs to improve security. That's no excuse for stealing their stuff. The last time I was on the ANN forums was when the Sakuracon commercial aired. The silly commerical that didn't do any real harm, but then I got on the ANN forums. Also, GRADUATING IN FIFTEEN HOURS. :D Tags: funimation, graduation
